Administrative Assistant (Shipping)

Growing mid-size, family owned company in West County is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Administrative Assistant (Shipping Specialist) that is eager and energetic to learn our family business. This company has acquired the latest technology to ease the administrative side of this position, so you can focus on what is important.

Responsibilities include:

  • Quoting and booking daily freight-Compare new rate vs. previous
  • Customer Service with clients
  • Scanning BOLS, Create BOL
  • Freight Log
  • Freight invoice analysis and discrepancies
  • Track Shipments to customers, Provide POD (Proof of delivery)
  • Working closely with vendors


Qualifications include:

  • 2+ years of administrative experience in a distribution/manufacturing environment
  • MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH DOMESTIC AND INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
  • Experience supporting a sales team
  • Experienced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with a Windows based order entry system
  • Extremely dependable, Highly organized, able to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
