Manager, Financial Analyst

A large distributor in the St. Louis area is looking to hire a Manager, Financial Analyst.  This opportunity will allow the right candidate to join a dynamic team.  This organization is committed to sustaining a work environment in which all their employees are valued, respected and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Primary Responsibilities

•    Responsible for  management of financial budget process which will entail interaction and collaboration with other department managers, culminating in the creation of the annual budget
•    Serve as point person for the company in regards to budgeting software. Expertise in functionality and technical aspects of software is expected
•    Management reporting of key business drivers, including dashboards, performance metrics and supplier profitability and other reporting as directed by CFO
•    Financial statement and operating expense analysis as assigned
•    Assisting management in determining financial impact of on-going and potential activities
•    Define project initiatives and provide recommendations to management in regards to optimizing process efficiency and cost effectiveness
•    Perform or direct data extraction to access, validate and update reports
•    Document procedures and create Standard Operating Procedures
•    Ad hoc tasks as directed by Financial Management team
•    Manage a team of 1-3 employees to support the Company’s analytical needs
•    Understand and comply with all State and Federal regulations regarding the sale and promotion of assigned  products
•    Attend, participate, and complete all company regulatory and required trainings
•    May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

•    Excellent analytical skills and oral/written communication skills when working with supervisors, colleagues and individuals both inside and outside of the company
•    Superior research and follow-up skills required
•    Must be highly organized and have the ability to work independently under general supervision with considerable expectations for initiative and independent judgment
•    Must be open and flexible to ideas and/or best practices from management and peers; is a team player who is willing & able to adapt their approach across a diverse employee base; and, is able to appropriately handle challenges from others
•    Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Windows environment.  Specifically, with Excel (PivotTables, reference to external databases, and complex formulas), as numerous analyses and spreadsheet projects are expected, and required to achieve success in the position
•    Must be able to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities
•    Must be able to solve complex problems and complete project responsibilities accurately and in a timely manner
•    Must have clear driving record in accordance with Company Policy

Education and Experience:

•    Bachelor’s Degree in business related field or 5-years’ experience in business related field required
•    At least 2 years of experience in business, accounting, or financial analysis
